Jack Canfield's Rainforest Adventure

Jack Canfield wrote to me a couple of days ago:

"I hope you're enjoying all that the New Year has to offer you! I just returned from my trip to the rainforest and it was truly a life-altering experience.

I spent 2 weeks living in the Amazon rainforest with no connection to the outside world..no emails, no cell phones, no television. We stayed in the Achuar tribal territory, which is just north of the Peruvian border.

We participated in many traditional activities of the Achuar tribe, including tribal dancing, "grubs" cooking, which is what we would call "cooking and eating bugs", and some amazing local art activities.

One of my favorite days included a 6 hour hike through the rainforest where we hiked through mud, streams, and dense brush and foliage wearing knee-high boots. This is a photo from that hike.

I spent most of the two weeks listening and learning about what we can do to preserve this amazing location. One of the biggest things we can do is to educate and empower the rainforest's inhabitants, the Achuar tribe, so they can continually work to improve and sustain the environment.

I strongly urge anyone who is interested in this global project to visit http://www.pachamama.org"
